You already know this. Internet, new media, social networking are all shaping the way we in advertising, marketing and business development woo the world to buy. Attention spans are short, choices are great and the shove it down their throat with direct mail just doesn’t quite cut it anymore. As the way we market evolves, marketers who realize that it’s still all in the relationship will succeed. Those that tout themselves to be new media strategists or social media experts aren’t necessarily bringing their A game. Understanding the hit or miss world of demographics, ad placement, or bulk ad pieces doesn’t qualify you as a media specialist either. Start relating to people, building trust, targeting those who want to be targeted and now you’ve got something. That’s why as everything in our industry changes, it changes nothing.

My name is Brandon Herrington. As the head of marketing for the Memphis office of TRO Jung|Brannen, I manage all aspects of business development, lead tracking, market research and public relations. This involves coordinating a team of 9 design professionals who are also involved in the day-to-day business development effort. I am also responsible for proposal submissions, occasional graphic layout, and maintaining brand image.

Prior to this position, I managed and operated Herrington Marketing where I served as a freelance advertising agent, focusing on web design and search engine optimization.
